Newest Quilt
(in progress)
for the past year i have been working on what i call my hummingbird quilt ... but now the idea has
expanded and its going to be a little bit of everything ... i have finished all the main 12" squares using
all 12 of the hummers and 8 of my flower collection ... i figured if i post the progress and date it each
time it will motivate me to finish it sooner rather than face the "when will this be done" comments

i am a big fan of linen ... this particular linen i am using is medium weight natural linen and it has been
"softened" ... which makes it softer to the touch

with the birds i used french knots for the quilting and for the flowers i used just a regular quilting stitch

so check back every once in a while and see how its coming along

4/26  ... i completed the quilt this past week as far as putting all the pieces together ... for the
life of me i could not take a decent photo of the whole quilt ... all i have left to do are the
quilting stitches ... using a lattice pattern ... about a 1" grid ... i am going to quilt the borders and
the intersections

the top border has the jaguar in the center with the red fish on both sides, the bottom border is
the same except i used the green fish ... i placed the nest in each corner; on the sides i used the
leopard twice ... on one side i used the black and gold fish and on the other side i used the
black and green fish ... i am extremely happy with the way it turned out ... i am just sorry that
you really cant see that by my photos
